VESSELS OF PROTECTION (2025)

Stepping into the skirt, a childhood tent embraces my body, feeling familiar, sheltering, yet strangely unsteady. The weight shifts, movement slows, and suddenly, I am somewhere between past and present, inside and outside, body and sculpture. Can a garment become a vessel for what we struggle to carry? Can the clothing we wear do more than just protect us from the elements—can it shield us emotionally too? These garments act as both barriers and bridges. They create distance from external pressures while simultaneously offering a space for introspection and transformation.

Wounded Moon, Wearable Art in Photoshoot (Tent, marker, towel, chalk, crayon and acrylic on canvas)

Wounded Moon represents an eclipse, standing as both a shield and a barrier to emotional openness. It explores the tension between allowing vulnerability and holding back, capturing the internal struggle of embracing one’s emotions while guarding against them.

Clarity Capsule, Wearable Art in Photoshoot (Tent, marker, towel, chalk, crayon and acrylic on canvas)

This piece is a capsule that holds fleeting moments of clarity during key points in life. It preserves fragments of insight, offering guidance until they fade, leaving only the memory of their impact.

Flowing Haven, Wearable Art in Photoshoot (Tent, marker, towel, chalk, crayon and acrylic on canvas) (Left)

In this transitory space of healing, societal stressors dissolve and one enters a state of flow (feeling their ultimate presence), transcending boundaries and embracing self-discovery.

Enchanted Canopy, Wearable Art in Photoshoot (Tent, marker, towel, chalk, crayon and acrylic on canvas) (Right)

In this playful refuge, the wearer can retreat into a magical mushroom-shaped dream. It is a space of escaping through dreams, a space where the nonsensical is celebrated and projected unconscious desires can be safely explored.
