TOY GARMENT (2022)
Constructed from a collection of recycled childhood toys and gathered playthings, the central dress of the Toy Garment is modeled after the spiraling form of the Guggenheim Museum: a place where art is experienced through movement. I was drawn to Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision of a space where viewers ascend and descend along a continuous ramp. The Toy Garment places toys as the artworks intermingled throughout the spiral hoops. It invites its wearer to become the artwork and to embody the sensation of being a child.
The garment includes a multi-spiral dress, toy shoes, and an exaggerated toy hat, each constructed with oversized elements reminiscent of childhood dress-up: a time when we clumsily mimicked the roles of grown-ups we admired.
In wearing the garment, one moves through nostalgia as architecture.

SCARF CAPE (2022)
This vibrant cape is hand-stitched from thirty-six patterned and textured thrifted scarves. The cape symbolizes power and protection, offering a means of visibility through its boldness. Inspired by the tension between shielding oneself from harm and stepping unapologetically into the world. This piece marked the beginning of my exploration into the space between innocent escapism and real-world resistance: how wearable forms can become sites of transformation, where fantasy and agency intertwine.
A cape in the hands of a child has the power to transform its wearer into something larger than life. It can do the same for adults.
